Working for RCS Telecommunication the importer of this Huawei containerised data centre. The brief was to provide engineering advocacy and design certification to achieve local mine site compliance. Compliance to the relevant legislative requirements and to the MMG company standards was required.
Inspections of the OEM wiring system and switchboard identified some discrepancies with local standards and redesign of some circuits as well as replacement and relocation of the electrical distribution board was required. BRS designed and documented these modifications, working hand in hand with the OEM, to ensure all warranty was vested to the end client MMG.
Our role also required site liaison with MMG stakeholders, including the electrical engineering and governance personnel to ensure the modifications met the company standards and operational requirements.
The final design was implemented by RCST and support for commissioning and final documentation was provided by BRS engineers. The result was a fully compliant system handed over to MMG which retained the OEM warranty from Huawei and met the local compliance standards.
