As part of plans to increase the Peak Downs Mine CHPP, new Denver disc filters were procured from Bokela. The new filters replace similar existing filters, with the aim to improve the process throughout and recovery rates.
This project covered the replacement of just the first unit with a further 2 filters to be completed in the next 2 years. The challenge was to fit the new filters into the brown field plant with shutdown timing and maintain the existing plant standards as the key focus.
The design includes, PLC upgrades, Remote IO station, VVVF Drives, Instrumentation procured locally to meet Bokela specification and ancillary equipment power and communications.
